The score
0–100
One number, a letter grade, and the math shown.
The model
6 layers
Weighted by property type — oil and gas is not garden-style multifamily.
The credential
4 tiers
Performance-validated, from field operator to program architect.
The TIA Score
Six layers, weighted, with the math shown
The Threat Impact Assessment Score, issued by the Threat Impact Assessment Bureau and produced by the published, versioned Threat Impact Model. Previously the AIA Score.
One number from 0 to 100 with a letter grade, built from six independently scored layers. Weightings shift by property type — an oil and gas site is not scored like a garden-style apartment complex.
Crime Intelligence30%
Geospatial crime exposure, distance- and time-decayed against your actual location.
Infrastructure20%
Access control, camera coverage and quality, alarms, fencing, locks, emergency systems.
Environmental (CPTED)15%
Lighting, sight lines, landscaping, ingress/egress, natural surveillance, territorial definition.
Incident History15%
Severity-weighted incident record with resolution status and response-time analysis.
Operational12%
Staffing, patrol frequency, response times, training hours, certified-staff percentage.
Community Intelligence8%
Resident and tenant safety signals, weighted by location relevance.
The Bureau
A score is only worth what stops us selling it
The TIA Score is issued by the Threat Impact Assessment Bureau, under a boundary we publish and do not cross: the Bureau assesses, it does not fix what it assesses, and it is never paid more for a better score. The model is published and versioned, and any assessed party can challenge a score within 30 days — reviewed by someone other than the assessor of record.
The Bureau never
- Designs, procures, or installs security measures at a property it scores
- Recommends a named vendor, product, or installer for one
- Takes pay contingent on a score, a score change, or a policy written against it
- Takes pay from a carrier, broker, or MGA on a scored property
- Scores a property AIA or a principal holds an interest in
Certification
Four tiers, earned on performance
Every tier sets explicit thresholds for scenario performance, technology proficiency, and continuous learning — and the higher tiers require verified field hours and managed incidents on top of coursework.
Why both sides matter
The score and the credential feed each other
Certified-staff percentage is a scored input to a property's Operational layer. Incidents an operator manages in the field count toward their next tier. The same platform that grades a site is the one that validates the people working it — which is why neither number is self-reported.
Score output includes
- Overall score, letter grade, and peer percentile
- Per-layer breakdown with weighted contribution
- Ranked vulnerabilities by impact severity
- Remediation actions with estimated score impact
- Data-quality and confidence assessment
