The Bureau

Assessor compensation

The Bureau assesses. It is never paid more for a better score. This page summarizes the compensation firewall that keeps assessment independent from commercial outcomes.

Charter §5

The compensation firewall

Fixed-fee assessment

Assessment is a published fixed fee — currently $5,000 per property. Never contingent, never a success fee, never indexed to score movement.

No score-linked pay

No assessor's salary, bonus, or equity vesting may be linked to the scores they issue, to score improvements, or to revenue from an assessed party.

No commercial negotiation

Assessors do not participate in commercial negotiation with a party whose property they will score. Sales and assessment are separate functions.

Flat monitoring pricing

Monitoring subscription revenue is priced identically regardless of score direction. A score that goes up must not cost the customer more.

Full policy. The canonical assessor compensation policy is maintained as platform/docs/ASSESSOR_COMPENSATION_POLICY.md and is available to carrier counsel and counterparties on request. It implements Charter §5 and is reviewed annually.
